Never Put Off Till Tomorrow What You Can Do Today

"Procrastination" said William Shakespeare ,"is the thief of time ."
In our scriptures also,we are exhorted to do what we are supposed to do immediately without wasting any time. Postponing an action is like defeating it's very purpose or delaying or weakening the results that is supposed to yield. Remember the old saying, "For want of a nail ,an empire was lost "It is said that a rider carrying a message during the wartime was careless. He knew that a nail had fallen off from his journey midway and get the nail fixed up properly. But,instead, he preferred to continue his journey because in his opinion ,a missing nail from the horse's hoof would not make much difference to the speed of the horse .The horse galloped on for some time before it stopped on account of pain. Another nail had fallen off.Soon, the horse fell down, it had become lame .It refused to get up and gallop further. The message was not delivered in time to the general to whom it had been urgently addressed, requisitioning reinforcements on the war front. As a result the forces lost.
A whole empire was lost because the rider would not take immediate action in getting the nail on the horse's hoof fixed before starting off.We should therefore never postpone our assigned tasks. The delay or postponement may lead to disastrous results.

This applies especially to students. They should not postpone their days studies to the next day or to some other time. This way the work would accumulate to such an extent that the very thought of doing it would frighten them with the result that at the time of the examinations, they would not be adequately prepared. This is the bane of students today. They keep postponing their preparations for the examinations till the last moment. Consequently, their performance leaves much to be desired. Those who work regularly and do not postpone their assigned tasks, come out with flying colors.

This can be expanded further to activity and work in all walks of life-be it in an office goer or his boss. They should keep in mind the golden maxim,"Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. "If all of us keep this in mind, there would be no delays or holdups, no bureaucratic redtapism and no hassles in our own or our fellow beings lives" Unfortunately most of the people agree with Oscar Wilde,"Do not put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after."

The Amazon is on Fire

Nature bears long with those who wrong her. She is patient under abuse. But when abuse has gone too far, when the time of reckoning finally comes, she is equally slow to be appeased and to turn away her wrath.

                                -Nathaniel .H. Egleston

Nature, the most perfect creation and earth our home and the home to the billions, trillions and even the quadrillions of living things ,is being destroyed everyday by the harsh and devastating effects of pollution. Is man destroying the nature? We may get caught mind of the devastating state of the mankind doesn't seem to be doing too much by creating a sustainable planet. History reveals a negligence, apathy towards safety, fatal mechanical malfunctions and devaluation of the environment at the helm of our world biggest disaster- The Amazon Rainforest Fire.

The Amazon region of South America, soaked in hundreds of inches of rainfall each year, is the wettest land on the planet. The majority of the forest is located within the Brazilian borders, followed by Peru and Colombia, with minor areas in Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Surinam and Guinea. The Amazon Rainforest is 5.5 million square kilometers.
So,how it burnt  ?
Scientists point to three main causes-each the result of human activity.
First is deforestation, much of it is illegal. The Amazon is shedding an astonishing amount of forest canopy and the rate is growing. Another spark is farming. More than three astonishing quarters of deforestation in the Amazon is the result of cattle ranching or soy production. The final main cause is droughts. These occur naturally but scientists say climate change and deforestation are making them more frequent and severe. This creates a self reinforcing loop:water dries or even kill trees, providing more fuel for more fires.
Effects of damage to the Amazon go far beyond Brazil and its neighbors. The area generates more than 20% of the world's oxygen and home to the 10% of the world's known biodiversity.
The Amazon is referred to as the "Lungs of the planet " and plays a major role in regulating the climate .The world would drastically change if the forest were to disappear with impacts on everything.
Everyday our earth gets ravaged by air pollution, chemical waste  loads of garbage. Many species have become extinct because of man's involvement in nature, from deforestation to poaching. Earth, only known planet able to support complex life ,slowly becomes less and less habitable and dies a little bit day by day.
Our environment is precious and delicate thing that we must protect and do our best to keep clean and healthy. It is our own best interest to ensure that the air is clean, the land and water free of toxins and contaminants and that we strive to maintain environment conditions that are close to nature. A polluted and dirty environment can be deadly for human civilization. By destroying the nature, we are destroying ourselves.

There are many ways we can help the earth, one simple way is to recycle plastic and paper and glass. Another way is to start moving away from damaging sources of energy like gas and coal and use renewable sources of energy like solar energy, hydroelectric energy, tidal energy and wind mills. We should use CFLS, compost, car pooling and bicycle for covering nearby distances. We should use 3Rs Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible to  save our planet from degrading. We can help the Amazon Rainforest by donating to the Rainforest Trust, Amazon Conservation Association. The organization has saved over 23 millions acres and counting since 1988.Plant more and more plants. It is very important to take these steps because it is a time when the world needs billion more trees to absorb the Carbon dioxide that we continue to emit on a daily basis, the planet is losing its biggest Rainforests which produces more than 20% of the world's oxygen. If we start using healthy sources of energy and move away from damaging sources of energy we can help slowly but surely restore earth back to its former state. It is high time we save the earth because without it all life currently inhabiting it will perish.

Let's start an Affair,
Taking steps Upstairs,
Making people Aware,
For the environment Welfare,
Planting trees with Care,
Making clean Atmosphere...
